The Christian Education Department plans conference wide opportunities for those who work in churches with children, youth and adult Christian education. Our conference Resource Center is located in Randolph, Vt. and has over 1000 books and dvd's to use in local church educational ministries.

The Lamplighter is the newsletter for Christian Educators and all interested in Christian Education in the local church. Click here to read the latest issue. To be added to the mailing list, please email Lynn.

The Vermont Academy of Spiritual Training holds classes in three locations. It is designed for laypersons, Licensed Ministers, and Certified Educators who wish to develop a greater understanding of the Christian faith. VAST is open to all denominations.

CAMP AGAPE OPPORTUNITY LIST -- 2008

Camp Agape:  A free camp for children 7 to 13 who have parents in prison. The camp is jointly sponsored by The Troy Annual Conference, United Methodist Church, The Episcopal Diocese of Vermont and The Vermont Conference, United Church of Christ.

‘Agape’ is the New Testament word for God’s unconditional love.  We invite you to share your ‘agape’ with these children.  We request your prayers and are grateful for your support.  Thank you!

How You Can Help:

  • $500 will provide a camper’s scholarship for a week
  • $250 will pay for one cabin counselor for a week
  • $100 will provide one day at camp for a camper
  • $50 will help pay for craft supplies
  • $25 will help pay for backpack-plus items
  • $20 gas card for care giver transporting camper(s)

Get involved with the Backpack-Plus Project:

  • Raise money towards the purchase of backpacks, sleeping bags, caps, T-shirts, sweatshirts and backpacks.
  • Each Denomination can donate the following items

United Church of Christ: 
        School kits:   Notebooks- single subject, one inch 3 ring binders    
                              Pocket folders, notebook paper, pencil sharpener,  
                             erasers, pencils, pens, rulers
        XXL 20gal. Size Ziploc Bags

Churches & individuals can bring items to Annual Meeting in Castleton or
